The Challenge We're Addressing

In many communities across Tanzania, girls and women face daily challenges that most of us take for granted. Something as natural as having a period can mean missed school days, lost opportunities, and feelings of shame or exclusion.

Many girls don't have access to basic hygiene products or even undergarments, so their parents keep them home for four to five days each month. The result is devastating: girls fall behind in their studies, lose confidence, and in some cases, drop out of school altogether.

Something as simple as soap and a sanitary product can transform a day—and a life.

We see this gap as more than a problem. For us, it's a chance to make a meaningful difference. dewdreamy made a pledge to support girls and women to feel clean, confident, and cared for.

Working with RUFFO

When we learned about the work of the Raising Up Friendship Foundation (RUFFO), we were deeply moved. Their mission goes far beyond providing immediate aid. It's about protecting futures, restoring confidence, and empowering entire communities.

Their work touches lives in profound ways: from preventing violence against children to offering women and girls the tools, skills, and resources they need to reclaim their independence and self-worth. Their programs span health, safety, education, and empowerment, ensuring that those who are often forgotten are given not just relief, but real hope for tomorrow.

This is why dewdreamy chose to stand with them. Together, we extend our mission beyond skincare and self-care into something bigger.

HEDHI YANGU | My Period Campaign

Hedhi Yangu Campaign

Periods should never be a barrier to education, confidence, or opportunity. Yet for so many girls in Tanzania, the lack of sanitary pads, soap, and undergarments means missing up to a week of school every month. Over time, this loss becomes impossible to recover.

Through the Hedhi Yangu Campaign, we are taking action:

We support RUFFO's efforts by collecting donations through a donation box at our physical store in Dar-es-Salaam.

We provide direct contributions in the form of sanitary products, soap, and skincare essentials.

We join RUFFO in organizing training sessions, helping girls not only understand menstrual health but also learn practical skills for hygiene and self-care.

Our Work So Far

Starting in August 2025, we've already taken our first steps:

Product Donations

Donated 100 pieces of bar soap, 100 sanitary pads, and essential skincare (lotions and oils) to a Secondary School in Ilala.

Educational Training

Our founder and cosmetic chemist led a sexual reproductive health training, including live demonstrations on safe pad disposal and proper hygiene practices.
